Hi, I’m Rich Griffis. I’m a creative leader, visual artist, and photographer based in Princeton, North Carolina.

With over 13 years of experience, I’ve partnered with organizations of all sizes, working both in agency environments and in-house teams. I believe strong brands are built at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and storytelling. Thoughtful design does more than look good. It clarifies, connects, and solves real problems.

I earned my BFA in Graphic Design from East Carolina University. Alongside my creative work, I am also a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, which deeply informs how I approach design. Understanding people, emotions, and behavior allows me to create work that is not only visually compelling, but also empathetic and human-centered.

I currently serve as Senior Graphic and Multimedia Designer at Sprout Pharmaceuticals, working at the intersection of creativity and regulatory compliance within the pharmaceutical space. I collaborate with marketing, legal, and medical teams to produce consumer- and professional-facing design that is both visually engaging and compliant, translating complex, regulated information into clear, trustworthy visual communication.

As a leader, I am always refining my craft and pushing toward better solutions. One of my favorite quotes by Steve Jobs captures my philosophy well: “Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” At its core, design is problem-solving.

Outside of work, self-care and presence matter deeply to me. I enjoy being outdoors, whether running or exploring nature trails, along with reading, traveling, and spending meaningful time with my wife and our three daughters.

It all begins with an idea.
